Major Italian business team to visit Iran
Major economic delegation will arrive in the country next week for talks on potentials to explore the avenues for post-sanctions investments in the Islamic Republic.
Tasnim News Agency has reported that the delegation will comprise 150 businessmen and officials from Italy’s Marche region. They are expected to hold talks with Iranian officials and private sector representatives and weigh plans for investments in the country.
Led by Marche Region Governor Luca Ceriscioli, the delegation will hold meetings in the capital Tehran and in the northern city of Sari to get acquainted with investment opportunities in Iran.
The Italian companies sending representatives to Iran are engaged in a broad range of activities, such as agriculture and food industry, furniture, construction, interior design, automation, jewelry industry, renewable energies, pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, cosmetics production, sports equipment, tourism and cultural affairs, Tasnim News Agency added.
The delegation comprised 250 political and business people.
Iran and Italy signed a series of major agreements in different areas of trade, including energy, construction, power generation, information and communication technologies as well as steel and textile among others during Italy’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi Renzi’s visit to Tehran in April.
