Iran's president said a concerted and unified stance from Muslim countries against the Zionist regime could have prevented the Israeli atrocities in Palestine.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a Tuesday meeting with Saudi Arabia’s new ambassador to Iran, Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi, Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi said the lack of a unanimous and single stance from the Muslim governments has encouraged the Zionist regime to keep massacre of defenseless Palestinian people and violating their rights for 75 years.

“Also amid the recent unprecedented crimes committed by the Zionist regime and its Western sponsors against Gaza, a unified and integrated stance from the Islamic world could have prevented the Zionist regime’s cruelty and aggression and the excessive demands of its Western sponsors in a more effective manner,” President Raeisi stated.

He further described Iran and Saudi Arabia as two major and influential countries in the region, stressing that the employment of their mutual capacities and the expansion of their relations will strengthen regional cooperation and help resolve the problems in the region and the Islamic world.

The Iranian president maintained that interaction among the Muslim nations will fulfill many of their demands and obviate the need for foreign presence and interference in the region.

“The presence of outsiders in the region will not only not settle any problem, but also aggravates the problems,” Raeisi added.

For his part, the incoming Saudi ambassador said the relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran are very strong because the bonds and commonalities between the two nations overcome the differences.

Hailing Iran for assisting Saudi Arabia in many fields, the envoy expressed hope for the promotion of cooperation between the two states.
