Iranian renowned poet and Gnostic "Hafez Shirazi" commemorated in Kazakhstan

Pars Today- Students of Farsi language and Iranian studies held a ceremony in Kazakhstan to mark the birth anniversary of Iran's great poet and Gnostic, Hafez Shirazi (1325-1390 AD).

20 of Mehr in the Iranian calendar (October 11) has been registered as the day of the world-known poet and Gnostic, Khajeh Shams-od-Din Mohammad Hafez Shirazi and various ceremonies are held on this day every year. The conference of lovers of Hafez was held in Kazakhstan at the cultural center of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the mission of Sa'adi Foundation in the city of Astana. According to Pars Today, Ali Akbar Talebi Matin, Iran's cultural attaché and representative of Sa'adi Foundation in Kazakhstan, referring to the life of Hafez, described him as one of the most famous and greatest Farsi-composing poets of Iran.

Mentioning some of the works of Hafez, Talebi Matin called him one of the most popular poets of Iran whose works have catapulted to fame not only in Iran but also across the world after many centuries.

He said, "The poetry of Hafez has a high variety and his poems are used in the traditional Iranian music, visual arts and calligraphy."

Iran's cultural attaché in Kazakhstan added, "Hafez' divan (collection of poems) contains 500 ghazals (lyrics), 42 robaeez (quatrains) and a few panegyrics and Hafez has composed it within 50 years."

Talebi Matin, then, recited a poem from Hafez to the audience.
