Expansion of Iran, Japan environmental cooperation; Endeavor to reduce carbon dissemination
Pars Today - Head of Iran's Department of Environment, stressing Tehran's interest in expansion of environmental cooperation with Japan, said, "There are various capacities for joint cooperation in the field of environmental issue which should be activated."
Shina Ansari, the Head of Iran's Department of Environment, in her meeting on Wednesday, with the Japanese Ambassador in Thran, Tsukada Tamaki, underscoring her country's inclination for further environmental cooperation with Japan, said, "Iran welcomes exchange of thoughts and joint cooperation to face climatic changes and reduce carbon dissemination." According to Pars Today, quoting from IRNA, the Head of Iran's Department of Environment, referring to the cultural, social and historical commonalities of Iran and Japan, underlined the need to continue the two countries' cooperation in the field of environment.
The Japanese envoy, for his part, explained his government's approach in the field of environmental cooperation with Iran, and said, "Regarding that there are good potentialities for strengthening and expansion of Tokyo-Tehran cooperation, the Japanese government has put the revival of Lake Urmia in Iran among its most important projects."
Explaining Japan's good experiences in the field of wetlands, maritime environment, fight against desertification and confronting dust, Tsukada Tamaki informed of Tokyo's preparedness to expand cooperation with Iran in the field of environmental training and empowerment.
