Iranian weighlifter, Ayat Sharifi, Strongest Man of Asia
Pars Today - Iranian super-heavy weightlifter, garnering two gold and one silver medals, has been crowned as "Strongest Man of Asia" at the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championship.
The 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championship ended with super-heavy competitions in Jiangshan city of China and Iran's Ayat Sharifi secured silver medal in the snatch and gold medal in the clean and jerk.
According to Pars Today, quoting from IRNA, Iran has three representatives at this round of the competitions, and Ali Ālipour had won 2 gold medals and one silver at 96 km, while Alireza Moini won gold medal of snatch and overall bronze.
Iran's representatives performed a bright job in Jiangshan, and securing 8 colorful medals, ranked at the second position of Asian Weightlifting Championship, while China ranked first.
Ayat Sharifi won silver in the snatch in 195km. He secured 185km at the first attempt and 191km in the second to win silver medal.
Sharifi had a better lift in the clean and jerk than the Korean champion and lifting 227km secured his gold medal. Iran's super-heavy weightlifter finally was crowned as the strongest man of Asia with a total of 442km.
