Araghchi Urges European Countries to Take Responsible Stance Toward Israel
Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister, in a conversation with his Polish counterpart, sharply criticized the supportive positions of some European countries toward the Israeli regime and their failure to explicitly condemn the regime’s and the U.S.’s aggression against Iran. He called on European nations to take a responsible and just approach in the face of Israel’s ongoing rogue behavior in the region.
According to Pars Today, citing a Thursday report by IRNA, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, held a phone call with Radosław Sikorski, Poland’s Foreign Minister, to discuss recent developments in the region following Israeli and U.S. aggression against Iran, as well as the announcement of a halt to Israeli attacks.
Araghchi outlined Israel’s acts of aggression against Iran, including terrorist operations, the assassination of military personnel, university professors, and civilians, as well as strikes on infrastructure, peaceful nuclear facilities, and residential areas across various cities.
He stressed that Israel’s military attack against Iran constitutes a clear act of aggression under Article 39 of the UN Charter and a blatant violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the same charter. He urged the international community to respond strongly to this grave crime and called on the UN Security Council to condemn the aggression and take decisive action to hold the aggressors accountable.
Referring to the aggressive attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities—which constitute a serious breach of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and related UN Security Council and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions—Araghchi described these actions as a severe blow to the rule of law, diplomacy, and the non-proliferation regime. He said the dangerous consequences of these criminal violations rest squarely with the United States, Israel, and their supporters and enablers.
Stressing the Iranian nation’s resolve to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Araghchi stated that Iran’s armed forces have demonstrated strength and resolve in resisting foreign military aggression and remain fully prepared to deliver a decisive response to any further hostile acts by Israel and its allies.
He strongly criticized the supportive stances of certain European countries toward Israel and their refusal to explicitly condemn the aggression by both Israel and the U.S. against Iran. He urged Europe to act with fairness and responsibility in the face of Israel’s continued rogue behavior in the region.
He also noted that the unconditional support by some European countries and the U.S. for Israel during its genocide in occupied Palestine and its subsequent attacks on Lebanon and Syria, has been a key factor in enabling Israel’s continued aggression.
The Polish Foreign Minister welcomed the ceasefire and expressed hope that it would help de-escalate tensions in West Asia. He also thanked Iran for its efforts to improve consular cooperation between the two countries.
