Pars Today- The World Crafts Council (WCC) published a report on the number of the cities (and villages) of handicrafts in various countries.

According to the data of the WCC, that has just been released, 59 cities and villages in the world have been registered as centers of handicrafts. According to Pars Today, Iran with 11 cities and villages, has gained %24 of the general statistics of the world and %32 of the regional statistics.

Shiraz has been registered as the world city of handicrafts, and the following cities and villages have also been registered: Malayer as the world city of furniture and woodcarving, Isfahan as the world city of handicrafts, Mashhad as the world city of gems, Zanjan as the world city of filigree, Tabriz as the world city of carpet, Lalejin as the world city of pottery, Abadeh as the world city of woodcarving, Meybod as the world city of Ziloo (a kind of soft mat made of cotton), Marivan as the world city of Kolash (a kind of shoes made of natural strings), Sirjan as the world city of Gelim (a kind of rug woven with wool), Khorashad as the world village of "Tubafi" (making a kind of towel), Qasemabad as the world village of "Chadorshab Bafi" (making a kind of cool and fine fabric from cotton or wool), Kalporagan as the world village of pottery.
