Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said in a meeting with the Mufti of Tunisia that stopping the Zionist regime’s genocide in Gaza and preventing the expansion of its aggressions requires serious cooperation among the Islamic Ummah.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi — who was visiting Tunisia for consultations with senior government officials — met on Wednesday evening, coinciding with the anniversary of the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with Sheikh Hisham Mahmoud, the Grand Mufti of Tunisia, at the Al-Zaytuna Grand Mosque.
Araghchi congratulated the Tunisian people and government on the Prophet’s birthday and underlined the importance of unity among all Muslims around the noble Prophet of Islam. Referring to the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the spread of its aggressions across the West Asia region, he stressed that stopping the genocide in Gaza and countering its dangerous expansionism require serious cooperation and coordination among the Islamic Ummah.
The Grand Mufti of Tunisia also expressed his pleasure at the Iranian foreign minister’s presence in the Al-Zaytuna Grand Mosque and offered explanations about the history of the mosque and its importance in spreading the message of compassionate Islam in Tunisia, North Africa, and throughout the Islamic world.
The Iranian foreign minister then toured the mosque’s main courtyard and arcades. Al-Zaytuna Mosque is one of Tunisia’s oldest mosques, with a historic standing dating back to 79 AH (698 CE), and has played a highly significant role throughout its long history in promoting Islamic teachings.
