Pars Today – Trade between Iran and China reached $2.54 billion in October–November 2025, including $1.03 billion in Iran’s non-oil exports and $1.51 billion in imports from China.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the latest published statistics show that total non-oil trade between the two countries during this month amounted to approximately $2.54 billion.

Of this figure, around $1.03 billion was attributed to Iran’s non-oil exports to China, while about $1.51 billion accounted for imports from China. The weight of Iran’s exports during the month was estimated at approximately 3.95 million tons, compared to about 0.46 million tons of imports from China — indicating a significant advantage in export volume over imports.

According to a report by the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, China remains one of Iran’s most important export destinations and, at the same time, one of its main sources of imports.

Composition of exports and imports in Iran–China trade

A review of Iran’s export items to China in this period shows that the non-oil export basket continues to rely heavily on primary and semi-processed products. Methanol, various types of polyethylene and other petrochemical products, along with mineral concentrates and metal products such as iron ore, accounted for the largest share of bilateral trade. This composition reflects the continued demand of Chinese industries for raw materials and production inputs from Iran.

On the import side, Iran’s purchases from China mainly consisted of intermediate goods, industrial raw materials, machinery, and components required by the production sector. Photovoltaic cells (solar panels), completely knocked down (CKD) automotive parts, integrated circuit (IC) components, electronic equipment, and industrial machinery were among the leading imported items. This structure indicates that a significant portion of Iran–China trade is geared toward meeting production needs and expanding Iran’s industrial capacity.
