Iran warns of U.S. abuse of UNSC

Pars Today – The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations said that the United States is exploiting the Security Council to spread falsehoods and unfounded accusations against Iran and its nuclear program.

According to Pars Today, the Iranian UN mission stated that the United States is the only country in history to have used nuclear weapons, and that it is itself responsible for attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as for targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

It further accused Washington of continuing violations of international law through unlawful naval blockades and by providing unconditional support for the crimes and atrocities of the Israeli regime across the region.

The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations added that the United States, by spreading lies, false accusations, and misleading information against Iran and its peaceful nuclear program—and by hypocritically invoking concepts such as international peace and security or freedom of navigation—has once again abused the platform of the United Nations Security Council.

The Iranian UN mission stressed that, in reality, “the perpetrator and the thief are now playing the roles of prosecutor and judge,” and are attempting to whitewash their own crimes.
