Pars Today – The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to remarks made by the President of Lebanon against Iran, posted a subtle message stating: “One who stands beside is sold, and one who stands in front is bought.”

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Esmaeil Baqaei wrote on Saturday on the social media platform X, in Arabic and in support of the Iranian Foreign Minister’s reaction to the statements of the Lebanese President:

“Whoever stands beside him is sold, and whoever stands in front of him is bought; he abandons whoever supported him and supports whoever puts him under pressure.”

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in an interview with CNN, had claimed that Iran uses Lebanon as a pressure card in negotiations with the United States.

Following these remarks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded on the social media platform X, noting that based on Mr. Aoun’s statements, it would appear that Iran is the one occupying one-fifth of Lebanon, displacing one-quarter of its population, and bombing the country daily. He added that if Lebanon were truly a bargaining tool for Iran, an agreement would have been reached long ago, and urged the Lebanese president to “save Lebanon from its real enemy.”
