Pars Today – The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, sharing a video of remarks by the U.S. Treasury Secretary on his personal social media page, wrote: "Taking pride in stealing the assets of the Iranian people is shameful."
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, posted a video of U.S. Treasury Secretary's remarks in which he spoke proudly about the seizure of assets belonging to Iran. Alongside the video, Baqaei quoted a passage from Macbeth, the play by William Shakespeare, writing:
"Now does he feel his title Hang loose about him, like a giant's robe Upon a dwarfish thief."
Macbeth is a tragic play by William Shakespeare. While it is based on historical events in Scotland, Shakespeare drew on his artistic and literary imagination to alter certain details and intertwine various wartime events.
This timeless masterpiece powerfully dramatizes the physical destruction and the psychological consequences of political ambition. It vividly portrays how the pursuit of power and unchecked ambition can corrupt individuals, ultimately leading to moral decay, suffering, and tragedy.
