Pakistan to increase gas imports from Iran

Pars Today – Pakistan's Minister of Petroleum has announced that his country has decided to increase imports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Iran.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Pakistan's Minister of Petroleum, told a press conference in the city of Lahore: "Our relationship with Iran is one of brotherhood and close neighborliness, and I believe we should make the most of our mutual capabilities."
The minister said that Pakistan currently imports between 4,000 and 5,000 tons of LPG per day from Iran and has now decided to increase that volume.
He added that technical teams from Iran and Pakistan are in close contact, and efforts are underway to meet Pakistan's energy needs through supplies from Iran in a cost-effective manner. He noted that the government in Islamabad will make the necessary decisions regarding the plan.
