Araghchi: Iran has so far kept its word

Pars Today — Iran’s foreign minister, reacting to new U.S. sanctions against Iran and Washington’s violation of the memorandum of understanding, wrote on social media that Iran has thus far remained committed to its obligations, but that the only path forward is for both sides to adhere to their commitments under the Islamabad memorandum.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, wrote in an English-language post on social media:

“Iran has so far kept its word, unlike the so-called U.S. Treasury Secretary who is violating Para 9 of the MoU.”

He stressed that this violation follows other violations and missteps by the United States.

Araghchi’s message continued:

“Reality check: There can only be mutual compliance.”
