Iranian Army Spokesman: Americans must comply with MoU

Pars Today – Brigadier General Akraminia, spokesman for the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated that U.S. interference aimed at establishing an illegal route through the Strait of Hormuz has created insecurity in the region. He stressed that Iran’s armed forces are firmly defending the rights of the Iranian people in the strait.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, the Iranian Army spokesman referred to the United States’ long history of failing to honor its commitments and said that the same pattern had also been evident in the recent memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States.

According to Brigadier General Akraminia, Washington is attempting to impose an improper route through the Strait of Hormuz, even though Iran is responsible for implementing all traffic and navigation arrangements in the waterway.

Akraminia also stated that whenever the United States had targeted Iranian facilities, it had received a forceful response. He emphasized:

“Once the memorandum of understanding and the ceasefire were reached, we used the opportunity to enhance our combat capabilities. Our target bank is updated continuously, and we are prepared for every possible scenario.”
