Envoy: Iran voices support for Kabul conference

Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mohammad Reza Bahrami, voiced his country's support for the upcoming Kabul Peace Conference.
"Iran will support any effort to bring peace to Afghanistan," Bahrami said in a meeting with Afghanistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai in Kabul on Tuesday.
The Iranian ambassador said that Tehran has always been beside the Afghan government.
Expressing satisfaction with the growing relations between the two neighboring countries in different spheres, both sides emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation between Kabul and Tehran.
On May 21, Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani announced that there would soon be a conference in Kabul with the presence of regional countries.
In this conference, the Afghan government intends to put forth a plan to bring Taliban to peace and negotiating table with Kabul having the pivotal role in the talks.
Ashraf Ghani has said that the Kabul Process Conference should not just be a show, but it should have results.
