An Omani delegation has visited the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, for talks with the leaders of the Ansarullah movement on advancing peace talks and tackling the current humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country.

According to Press TV, Mohammed Abdul Salam who headed the Yemeni delegation in the talks said the meeting was aimed at pushing up the humanitarian situation that has been deteriorating due to the all-out blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia.

Observers say this move could make a difference in the political process as Oman has always been beside Yemenis and realizes the circumstances of Yemen.

The latest round of negotiations in Oman's capital Muscat failed to find a solution to the world's worst humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs the Saudi led coalition war on Yemen has killed almost a quarter of a million Yemenis, caused outbreaks of disease, turned Yemen into the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and brought the poor Arab country to the verge of famine.

Yemenis are optimistic about the Omani delegation visit to their country, saying Oman is capable of achieving what the UN envoy has failed during the past years and putting an end to the suffering of the war-ravaged nation.
