Dozens of militants stationed in Aleppo surrendered themselves and their weapons to the Syrian authorities to return to normal life after their files are settled.

"Tens of militants have laid down their arms and surrendered to the Syrian governmental forces," a local official in Aleppo said on Tuesday.

The source added that after going through the necessary procedures and resolving their cases, the militants will return to normal life.

A source within the ranks of the Syrian National Defense Forces confirmed last week that a large number of terrorists, trapped in government forces' siege of Aleppo city, are laying down their arms in groups and turning themselves in to the army men.

Tens of terrorists have surrendered to the authorities in Salahuddin and Sheikh Maqsoud districts in the last two day.

The truce monitoring center in Humeimim also announced that 69 terrorists laid down their weapons and turned themselves to the government forces, meantime, almost 200 civilians were transferred to safer regions through the safe corridors opened by the Syrian army.

The developments came as the Syrian forces are continuing their rapid advance in the terrorist-held areas in Aleppo.

The Syrian army and resistance forces continued their advances in Aleppo province on Tuesday and captured al-Borqi, Al-Ziwat and Zahra al-Hauz workshops along a strategic road leading to al-Taslih College.

The Syrian government and resistance forces still continue their mop-up operations along al-Taslih road.

The resistance forces also purged terrorists from al-Baz, Mouteh and al-Mohebeh heights in Aleppo Province.
