At least four civilians, including two children, were killed Wednesday in a new round of airstrikes by Saudi warplanes on residential areas in Yemen.

The Saudi warplanes pounded the residential district of Nihm in Sana’a province. Three people were killed in the strike, Yemen’s al-Masirah television reported.

Another Yemeni was killed in a similar attack on the northern province of Sa’ada.

The Saudi warplanes also bombed residential areas in Amran province, north of the capital Sana’a.

Meanwhile, the airstrikes on the capital led to the temporary closure of the Sana'a international airport.

Saleh al-Samad, the head of the political council of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, said the airstrikes flout international law.

The Ansarullah official added that the aerial transfer of medical and food supplies to millions of people across Yemen has been halted as a result of the suspension of the flights from the airport in the capital.

On Tuesday, Saudi jets bombed a potato factory in the Nahda district of Sana'a. Over a dozen people were killed in the attack. More than half of the victims were believed to be women.
