Palestinian representative rejects FIFA President’s request
Pars Today – The president of the Palestinian Football Association refused FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s request to take a photo with the representative of the Israeli regime.
According to Pars Today, at the 76th FIFA Congress held in Canada, Gianni Infantino attempted to position Jibril Rajoub, president of the Palestinian Football Association, and the representative of Israeli football side by side for a photograph, but the Palestinian side refused.
Jibril Rajoub shouted on stage, “We are suffering.” Moments later, he left the venue.
Suzan Shalabi, the vice president of the Palestinian Football Association, told Reuters that Rajoub had said: “I cannot shake the hand of someone whom the Israelis have brought here to whitewash their fascist crimes and genocide.”
Rajoub had also previously reiterated in his speech that FIFA should take action against Israeli clubs operating in West Bank settlements and deem such activity illegal.
