Pars Today – On the anniversary of Lebanon’s liberation, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament stated that the Zionist enemy will not hesitate for a moment to take revenge on Lebanon, adding that together the Lebanese people are capable of liberating and rebuilding the country.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, said in a statement marking the anniversary of Lebanon’s liberation: “This year, May 25 arrives while the land, the people, the nation’s will, and all the elements that shaped this glorious moment in our country’s history have, over the past three years, been subjected to continuous Israeli aggression.”

He added: “Since last February, this aggression has taken the form of a war of genocide and destruction, targeting every aspect of life in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut.”

Berri continued: “In the early days following the liberation in May 2000, we warned about this and said that the liberation of the land and the people was the ‘lesser jihad,’ whose price was paid through the noblest and purest sacrifices — the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners. Preserving and protecting this achievement, however, is the ‘greater jihad.’”

The statement added: “The Israeli regime, which was driven out of our land, will not hesitate for a moment in taking revenge on Lebanon — a Lebanon that, in the battle for liberation, offered a lesson in dignity, unity, and sacrifice. This is a lesson incomprehensible to a regime that specializes only in the arts of killing, destruction, forced displacement, the murder of children, and aggression against everything human and sacred.”

Nabih Berri further stated that this year’s Liberation Day coincides with Eid al-Adha, a time when the people — with all their ethnicities, colors, hearts, and voices — unite in obedience to God and in unity of purpose.

In his statement, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, referring to the aggressions of the Zionist regime against all Lebanese communities and sects, called for an end to hate speech and the halting of sedition and discord. He also urged readiness for sacrifice and steadfastness in defending Lebanon’s land and borders and confronting the occupiers.

While praising and expressing gratitude to all resistance forces, military personnel, and the Lebanese people who defended their country, he stressed: “Together we achieved liberation, and together we are capable of liberating and rebuilding Lebanon.”
