Pars Today – A member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese parliament described direct negotiations between Lebanon’s government and the Israeli regime as tantamount to dictating conditions and fulfilling the demands of the Israeli enemy.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Hassan Ezzedine, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc in the Lebanese parliament, said in an interview with Al Mayadeen that direct negotiations with the Israeli occupation regime are of no importance to Hezbollah and amount to imposing conditions in favor of the Israeli enemy.

Ezzedine added that any outcome from direct talks between Lebanese officials and the Israeli side would not even be worth the ink used to write it.

He called on Lebanese officials to avoid the sin of direct negotiations with the enemy and decisions that were taken before this approach.

Hassan Ezzedine stressed that there are many questions regarding the post-ceasefire phase, the first of which he said is the withdrawal of the Israeli regime from Lebanon and the return of displaced residents. He emphasized that a ceasefire that coincides with the continued presence of the occupying Israeli forces in southern Lebanon would not lead to any meaningful result.

His remarks come as a Lebanese official source told Al Mayadeen that the fifth round of negotiations with representatives of the Israeli regime is set to begin in Washington on June 22.

The Israeli regime has launched a large-scale offensive against Lebanon since March 2, which, according to figures up to Wednesday, has resulted in 3,696 martyrs and 11,413 wounded.
