Pars Today – Lebanon's Parliament Speaker has strongly criticized the agreement signed in Washington, describing it as an imposed deal and stressing that it "will neither move forward nor be implemented."
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, told the newspaper Al-Akhbar that the Beirut–Tel Aviv agreement brokered by Washington was "dictated and imposed," adding that it is far worse than the May 17, 1983 Agreement.
Berri also called for avoiding any public reactions or street protests that could be exploited to drag the country into a cycle of chaos and internal conflict.
He further emphasized that the most dangerous aspect of the agreement lies not only in its political content but also in its potential to deepen internal divisions and drive Lebanese people into confrontation with one another—a development that, he said, would benefit the Israeli regime more than anyone else.
He concluded: "This agreement will not move forward, and it will not be implemented. In its current form, it simply cannot be enforced on its own."
