UNICEF: 300 children martyred during 300 days of Gaza ceasefire

Pars Today – The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said that nearly one child has been martyred every day in Gaza during the 300-day ceasefire, with a total of 300 children martyred.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, UNICEF said in a statement on Thursday that nearly one child had been martyred every day during the 300-day ceasefire in Gaza, adding that hundreds of other children have been injured, many of them critically.

The agency also said that families are now concentrated in roughly one-third of the Gaza Strip, taking shelter among destroyed buildings, rubble, and uncleared waste.

UNICEF added that children continue to face acute malnutrition, disease, unsafe water, and severely compromised sanitation.

According to UNICEF, more than 58,000 children have lost one or both parents, while more than one million children require psychosocial support.

The agency had previously estimated that around 17,000 children are unaccompanied or separated from their families, describing this as one of the largest child-protection crises in the world.
