Terrorists in al-Wa'er District, who had already been included in government's amnesty plan but did not leave the region, opened fire at the people, leaving several civilians dead and wounded.
"The terrorists, who had been pardoned by relevant authorities, attacked the people in al-Wa'er which left two civilians dead and another one injured," the provincial sources said.
"The Syrian army troops, in a retaliatory move against the violation of the ceasefire by the militants, targeted their positions in al-Wa'er," the sources said.
"Civilians in al-Wa'er are furious at terrorists' attacks on people," they added.
Hundreds of militants have been pardoned in al-Wa'er after surrendering to the government forces in the last several months, while hundreds of others have been relocated to other regions in the same province or to Idlib at their own request.
