Takfiris agree to surrender in Syria’s Quneitra near Israeli-occupied Golan

Foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists in Syria’s southwestern Quneitra Province, which borders Jordan, Lebanon and the Israeli-occupied side of the Golan Heights, have agreed to hand back the control of the sensitive area to the government.

Syria’s official SANA news agency reported on Thursday that the agreement stipulates the evacuation of terrorists “unwilling for settlement” with the Damascus government to northwestern Idlib Province.

Under the deal, the Syrian army would regain the positions it held prior to 2011, when the Syria crisis erupted, and the legal status of the militants who are willing to stay in Quneitra would be settled.

According to a copy of the agreement sent to Reuters by a militant source, Russian military police would also accompany two Syrian army brigades into a demilitarized zone that has been in place on the Golan Heights since 1974.

A military news outlet run by Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement confirmed that Takfiri terrorists in Quneitra had accepted a return of government rule or to leave to the terrorist-held Idlib Province.

Since June 19, the Syrian army has been conducting a major counter-terrorism operation in Dara’a Province, which also borders Jordan and the Golan Heights.

Dara’a militants have been handing over their heavy weapons to Syrian forces and leaving the region in negotiated surrender deals mediated by Russia.

The Syrian military has so far liberated more than 90 percent of Dara'a Province from the grip of Takfiri elements.
