Israeli regime attacks southern Lebanon with phosphorus bombs
Pars Today – News sources have reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out airstrikes on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon using phosphorus munitions.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Lebanon’s National News Agency stated that Israeli forces bombed a forested area between the towns of Kounine and Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district early Thursday. Lebanon’s Al-Markazia news agency also reported that the Israeli military struck the town of Kounine in the same district.
Some media outlets reported that the Israeli military used prohibited white phosphorus weapons in the attacks.
According to the report, Israeli forces on Wednesday carried out extensive demolition operations at several sites and homes in the town of Beit Yahoun in Bint Jbeil district. They also used bulldozers to destroy roads leading from Bint Jbeil to the border town of Maroun al-Ras.
Israeli troops also conducted patrol operations in Bayout al-Sayyad and Majdal Zoun and opened fire on several residents who had attempted to inspect orchards near the towns of Majdal Zoun and Al-Mansouri.
According to the report, the Israeli regime launched a large-scale offensive against Lebanon on March 2. The fighting has resulted in the deaths and injuries of numerous Lebanese civilians and displaced more than one million people, while parts of southern Lebanon remain under Israeli occupation.
