Afghan troops kill over 40 Daesh militants in 24 hours

Afghan security forces killed 58 insurgents, including 43 Daesh terrorists in the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar over the past 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The ministry added that the fighters from the notorious terrorist group were killed in the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar, Khaama Press reported.

Afghanistan is in a state of political and social turmoil, with government forces fighting the continuing Taliban insurgency, while other extremist groups, such as the Daesh terrorist group, have also expanded their activities in the country and neighboring states.
