Pars Today- Ukraine's president stressed that the country's nuclear power plants belong only to Ukrainians.

Donald Trump, the American President, in his phone talk with his Ukrainian counterpart, had proposed to get the control of Ukraine's nuclear power plants while pretending to prevent Russian attacks. According to experts, this proposal is another step by the US to seize the Ukrainian resources and facilities. Pars Today, quoting from IRNA on Saturday, reported that Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, ruling out the reports published on the media about the likelihood of seizure of the country's nuclear power plants by the US, emphasized, "These power plants belong to the people of Ukraine."

 

American dream for Ukraine

Meanwhile, daily Financial Times reported on Friday that the United States is seeking to review the conditions for deal of the Ukrainian special mines to be able to control nuclear power plants in the country. This report, quoting from the Ukrainian officials, says that the US has asked Ukraine to agree with the issues pertaining to a joint investment fund and its administrator so that the possession of other economic resources, such as nuclear power plants, will be in Washington's control. Ukrainian officials have also expressed concern over pressures on the country for capitulating to the conditions which are not to the benefit of Kiev.

 

Trump: I have not set date

Disputes are rife on Ukraine while Donald Trump announced on Friday that he had not determined a date for his Russian counterpart to propose stopping the war in Ukraine. Claiming that the US is making progress to end the war, he said, "We might be able to stop the fatal course of war in Ukraine soon." He claimed again that had there been a competent president in the White House, the Ukrainian war wouldn't have broken out.

 

New EU plan for military aid to Ukraine fails

On the other hand, the initiative of Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, for sending further military aid to Ukraine, has failed due to differences among the EU leaders and no agreement was reached on the issue. The EU leaders announced on Thursday that they continue supporting Ukraine, but they refused to approve the budget requested by the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky. This is while, Zelensky announced via video-conference to the EU summit in Brussels, "Kiev is in immediate need of at least 5 billion Euros ($5.42 billion) to provide the artillery shells and it expects Europe's support.
