Pars Today- Dozens of students at Columbia University in the US have been suspended for participating in a pro-Palestine protest in the university library.

Last Wednesday, dozens of Columbia University students gathered in the university’s library in support of the Palestinian people. According to Pars Today, a Columbia University official said: More than 65 Columbia University students have been suspended for participating in a pro-Palestine protest in the university library.

The official said that 33 more, including individuals from affiliated institutions and an undisclosed number of alums, have also been barred from entering the university, as Columbia University faces pressure to take decisive action against the protesters.

The New York police had previously arrested 81 pro-Palestinian students who had gathered in the Columbia University's library.

Reuters described the presence of pro-Palestinian protesters at Columbia University as "one of the largest protests on university campuses" since the beginning of student protests against the Zionist regime's crimes in the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, protesters hung banners in support of Palestine in the Columbia University's main library.

Photographs and videos shared on social media showed many protesters wearing masks with banners saying: "Strike for Gaza”.
