Pars Today – A Palestinian writer and analyst emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated extensions of the ceasefire in the war against Iran indicate a clear retreat and escape under flimsy pretexts.

According to Pars Today, Abdelmajid Al‑Suwailem, a Palestinian writer and analyst, said: “Trump’s retreat from the option of war and his turn toward extending the ceasefire for the fifth time without setting a time limit is an attempt to conceal the United States’ obvious inability to make a decision about confrontation.”

He stressed: “There are fundamental reasons that make this war a disastrous adventure that falls outside the framework of traditional calculations.”

Al‑Suwailem explained: “The first reason is the opposition of decision‑making institutions within the U.S. Department of Defense (the Pentagon) to this option—not because of military incapability, but because the consequences of any military ‘achievement’ could mean the end of the U.S. presence in the region.”

The Palestinian analyst added that any military confrontation would certainly lead to widespread destruction of assets and infrastructure in the occupied territories and the Persian Gulf region—something that would mean the loss of everything Washington had considered a strategic reserve and had sought to control within the framework of the global energy struggle.
