Pars Today – Iran’s Deputy for Management Development and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics emphasized that passage through the Strait of Hormuz after the end of the war will take place according to Iran’s protocols.
According to Pars Today, Brigadier General Reza Talaei‑Nik, Iran’s Deputy for Management Development and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, said at the meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that, as you are aware, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a member and part of the Shanghai region, has been targeted within less than a year—on two occasions in June 2025 and February 2026—by illegal attacks and aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime. He said these aggressions have drawn West Asia into insecurity and crisis, to the extent that they will affect the political‑security environment of the international system for decades to come.
General Talaei‑Nik emphasized that the Iranian nation, a civilization‑building nation, throughout its long history has never accepted domination or exploitation by any power, nor has it ever sought to dominate or colonize any country.
At the meeting, speaking about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, he said: The smooth passage of commercial fleets through the strait will be placed on the agenda after the end of the war, provided that protocols are observed that do not endanger Iran’s security.
General Talaei‑Nik stated that in its contemporary history, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always acted as a point of balance in the region in pursuit of peace, stability, and lasting security. As one example, he pointed to more than a decade of fighting terrorism and the defeat of ISIS in West Asia, carried out in cooperation with the Russian Federation, which helped restore stability and security in the region.
He further emphasized that recent developments have once again revealed the ineffectiveness of the structure and system of the international order in implementing the UN Charter and dealing with aggressors.
In conclusion, General Talaei‑Nik said that the war has made the world clearly hear the breaking of the backbone of unilateralism and global dictatorship. He added that the final decline of the hegemonic system and the creation of a multipolar system based on justice and the dignity of nations is achievable, stressing that independent nations of the world should move beyond hesitation and neutrality and stand on the right side of history.
