England thrash France to secure third place
Pars Today – England’s national football team claimed third place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a high-scoring victory over France in the third-place playoff.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, England and France faced off in the match for third place in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, at Miami Stadium in the United States. The game, officiated by Venezuela’s Jesús Valenzuela, ended in a thrilling 6–4 victory for England.
The match became the highest-scoring game of the 2026 World Cup. The bronze medal also represents England’s greatest achievement since winning the World Cup in 1966.
Bukayo Saka, England’s midfielder, scored a hat-trick and was named Player of the Match.
The 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain is scheduled to kick off at 10:30 p.m. Tehran time on Sunday.
