Day of the devil’s defeat
Today, the 13th of the Iranian month of Aban, corresponding to the 4th of November is a historic day in the annals of the Islamic Revolution. It is the day on which a group of Iranian students rubbed the nose of the “Great Satan” in the dust.
In 1979 this day, so rigorously did those young revolutionaries rub in the dust Washington’s crooked nose which had been poking in Iranian affairs ever since the CIA coup of 1953 to topple Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mosaddeq that it hasn’t stopped bleeding, despite the passing of 38 years.
Uncle Sam’s bloodied nose looks so awful today that no amount of cosmetic surgery will ever set it right, whatever the gravity of US crimes, ranging from Saudi Arabia’s ongoing state terrorism in Yemen to the unabated oppression of Palestinians by its other agent the illegal Zionist entity, and in between the cannibalistic terrorism of its Takfiri brats in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, etc.
Now comes the news from the US that the quixotic president, Donald Trump, after having failed to unilaterally abort the 7-nation international accord regarding Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, has directed the Congress to violate his country’s commitment to international laws by imposing a fresh set of unjust and illegal economic sanctions upon Iran in a vain bid to stop the Islamic Republic from stabilizing the region and protecting the governments and peoples of neighbouring countries from terrorism and international Zionism.
We have been saying from the day of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran under the guidance of that Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini (God bless him) that the Yankees do not have any principles or morals, and nothing is fair in their affairs, whether it is Trump’s threats and theatrics against the free world, or their breaching of their own signed accords with world countries.
No wonder, Imam Khomeini while hailing the capture of the US Den of Spies in Tehran on this day in 1979 and the seizure of top secret espionage documents as “victory of the second revolution”, had made it clear “the US cannot do a damn thing”.
Perhaps, those who have greater faith in the devil rather than trust in God Almighty, might say how the US imposed the devastating 8-year war on Iran through Saddam of Baghdad’s repressive Ba’th minority regime, and how it clamped supposedly ‘painful’ economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic for refusing to bow to its dictates to wind up the peaceful nuclear programme.
True, Iran may have suffered loss of life and material wealth because of the unwanted war and the illegal sanctions, but on closer scrutiny, the fact cannot be denied that these sacrifices were essential for the emergence of a powerful and politically independent Islamic Iran, whose clout today prevails throughout the region in the interests of the oppressed masses and against the designs of terrorists of all hue and colour, while it is the US and its agents who continue to suffer setback after setback – if not outright defeat.
Even the so-called nuclear agreement which Iran accepted to show its good faith to the world, and which the Americans continue to violate, is indeed a blessing in disguise for the Islamic Republic. People in Iran and around the world, have become better aware and more conscious of the devilish nature of the US.
This was the reason, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, brushing aside the threats of Trump and the idea of any further negotiations with Washington, either on the 2015 Geneva accord or Iran’s right to develop and upgrade ballistic missiles, called the American politicians “liars, untrustworthy, deceitful and backstabbers.”
He also rejected claims that nuclear talks helped defuse threats against Iran, stressing that the enemies have given up threats against Iran because of its “defensive and military power” and their fear of the outcome of any belligerent act against the Islamic Republic.
The Americans know very well that whatever tricks they had tried against the Muslim people of Iran, failed miserably.
Those in doubt ought to study the significance of Aban 13.
It was on this day in 1964 that the US instructed its agent, the Pahlavi potentate to exile the Leader of the Islamic Movement, in the vain hope of killing people’s aspirations, but 15 years later, Imam Khomeini returned to Iran in triumph to an unprecedented welcome by the Muslim masses to end domestic despotism and foreign hegemony.
In 1978, on this day, the US ordered its Pahlavi minion to brutally kill and injure a group of peacefully protesting students at Tehran University, but within three months the people’s grassroots movement triumphed and threw out from the country the tens of thousands of Americans who had pervaded almost all spheres of Iranian society.
The remnants, under diplomatic guise, continued their nefarious activities against the Iranian people from the so-called US embassy in Tehran, but thanks to the vigilance of Iran’s revolutionary students, they were caught red-handed, thereby resulting in the closure once and for all, of what was an elaborate espionage den not just against Iran bur covering the whole region – West Asia, Caucasus and Central Asia, and South Asia.
The free world rightly feels indebted to the Islamic Republic for delivering them from the tentacles of the US, whose nose now appears to be on the verge of being cut off for good, by the quixotic policies of Donald Trump.
