Welcome to this week's episode of the series "Iranian Family". Upon the emergence of new technologies in cellphones, and participation in social networks, the priorities and goals of families have gone through a number of changes.

We have allocated today's episode to the terms of communication and relationship of spouses.

He can never bear to listen to the remarks of his spouse. He either watches TV or plays with his cellphone. Whenever his wife wants to talk, he pretends that he has not heard her, leading her to repeat her remarks.

Meanwhile, sometimes she is so occupied with cooking dishes, or talking on phone, leaving no room for her husband to start a dialog with her.

Based on a recent body of studies, it has been revealed that the root cause of many surging familial problems and emotional scars is negligence of one's spouse, and lack of mutual respect among spouses. Undoubtedly, maintenance of mutual respect and honor among married couples leads to further elevation of spouses.

Immersion in cyberspace, and lack of mutual respect in the real world is all too common in the contemporary era. Usage of Internet and social network software have led to emergence of opportunities and threats, both. ADSL Internet and cellphone have impacted the familial relations, for a while. The amount of time which family members spend in each other's company is much less than the amount of time that they spend, immersing into cyberspace. Meanwhile, excessive usage of Internet has gradually left a negative impact on families and has changed the outlook of married couples and even children towards life. In the meantime, youths and teenagers, due to their sense of curiosity; abundant attractions of this technology; and insufficient supervision over the content of websites, are the main targets of threats.  It should also be noted that cyberspace maintains many positive aspects, which upon appropriate management, can alleviate the negative impacts of Internet.

Cyberspace allows anyone in any part of the world to gain access to latest information in the easiest manner. Upon usage of cyberspace, one can chat about a topic with a number of individuals, in different regions of the world, or to purchase goods from the comfort of his own home, resulting in a significant reduction of costs. Furthermore, a drop in unnecessary inner-city commutes lowers consumption of fuels, and reduces air pollution. Moreover, cellphones make it possible for individuals to get in touch with their children, outside their homes. What's more, parents can monitor the movement of their children throughout their city via GPS system, installed on their mobile phones.

Establishment of healthy communications within cyberspace, and the necessity of vigilance of youths and families toward the threats posed by cyberspace, should be the top priority. Families should gain the sufficient and necessary information about their children's new methods of communication. Furthermore, if the family adopts a healthy lifestyle and promotes its knowledge about new media; it will establish and maintain its safety.

One of the very important factors in the content of married couples and in reinforcement of this union, is their sense of content toward their sexual relationship. It can be said that the first instinct which inclines individuals towards marriage is this human need. Upon the fulfillment of sexual instinct, the individual also reaches peace of mind, which in turn paves the way for growth and development of other aspects of human beings. Studies show that the content of married couples is tied their sexual satisfaction.

In the view of psychologists, maintenance of a satisfactory sexual relationship in married life is of paramount importance, granting the individual a sense of importance, and self-esteem. Sexual relationship in married life can reinforce body's immune system and transfer a sense of fertility to individuals, while also resulting in longevity, alleviation of depression, establishment of happiness, and reinforcement of the family.
