The total budget allocated for the campaign against Ebola disease is equivalent to 41.84% of the costs of the election campaigns of the US presidential hopefuls.

Ebola is a deadly virus; five types of which have been identified to this date. This disease has spread from wild animals to mankind and from the Ebola patients to other individuals. Meanwhile, the rate of mortality among the Ebola patients has varied extensively from 25% to 90%.

In the current year, 11,310 Ebola patients succumbed to this disease in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. Given the expanding communications, the possibility of a sharp rise in the number of Ebola patients has generated concerns within the international community. In the meantime, 5.37% of the budget needed to uproot Ebola is provided by countries that suffer from the surging number of Ebola patients; the vast majority of which are underdeveloped and poor countries.

Thus, in order to uproot this fatal disease in these countries, global assistance is required. In September 2015, the United Nations announced that there is need for $988 million to uproot Ebola in the three mentioned West African countries.

Meanwhile, as it was mentioned, the total budget needed to uproot Ebola is tantamount to 41.84% of the costs of the election campaigns of the two US presidential hopefuls, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
