    According to Prophet Mohammad (SAWA), the beginning of Ramazan is God’s mercy, its middle is God’s forgiveness and its end is freedom from the fire of hell. It is the best period for attaining proximity of God. It is the month in which the doors of the divine mercy are open. For sure, paying attention to God and connecting with that infinite source of greatness and power will have innumerable impacts in our life.

    Interestingly, on the 12th of the blessed month of Ramazan in the first year after Hijra (migration from Mecca to Medina), Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) established the covenant of brotherhood between pairs of Muslims. Thus, Muslims became brothers two- by- two according to their thoughts and friendship. For instance, Salman became the brother of Abuzar. Finally, the Prophet made Imam Ali his brother as there was no one qualified to be his brother.

    Imam Reza (PBUH) also said, “Small sins are the ground for great sins. Anyone who doesn’t fear God in a small sin will not fear Him in a great one, either.” It means if a person commits a minor sin and considers it unimportant, this will cause him to repeat the sin and this will be considered as a great sin by God.

    Refraining from sin becomes more difficult when a person is exposed to sin. In other words, when there is the motive and the ground is set for committing sin. Scholars of ethics say that the human soul (self) is an unruly horse that will not obey the rider. So, it will go its own way, if it is set free. Therefore, it should be harnessed and directed in the right way.
