Visit of Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to sports facilities
Pars Today — The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has said that targeting sports facilities and public infrastructure is a sign of enmity toward the dignity, vitality, and pride of the Iranian nation.
According to Pars Today, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said on Thursday during a visit to the 12,000-seat Azadi Sports Complex in Tehran, which was completely destroyed during the aggressions and attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime: "Attacking sports complexes is not merely the destruction of a structure or physical space; these places are part of the historical memory, national identity, and a symbol of the effort, hope, and pride of the youth of this land."
Pezeshkian, referring to the special place of the Azadi Sports Complex in Iran's sports history, added: "This sports complex has been the scene of great achievements, the epic feats of athletes, and the joy and pride of the Iranian nation over the past decades. Targeting such a place clearly shows that the enemies of the Iranian nation are hostile not only to the country's defensive capabilities and scientific progress but also to every symbol of dignity, vitality, solidarity, and pride of the Iranian nation."**
