Gambia takes global lead in justice for Rohingya
Nov 15, 2019 07:39Recently, the government of The Gambia gave the 740,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh a hint of something unfamiliar to them: hope. The West African country accomplished that by filing an official complaint against Myanmar with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague for violations of the United Nations’ 1948 Genocide Convention linked to abuses against its Muslim Rohingya minority.

Lost generation of Rohingya kids face a bleak future
Aug 01, 2019 21:10The boy’s eyes lit up when he talked about his dream of becoming a doctor. Seven-year-old “Mohammad” is a Rohingya Muslim from Myanmar. I met him at a learning center at a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, in early July 2019. After sharing his aspirations, Mohammed quickly remembered reality. “I know my dreams will never come true,” he said with a faint smile.
