UN should pass a resolution against Syria destroyers
The international civil society continues to welcome a landmark United Nations Security Council vote demanding the usurper regime of Israel stop building illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian territory.
The unprecedented vote in which the United States abstained for the first time since 1979, has angered the usurper regime to a great extent. This has forced the regime's premier Benjamin Netanyahu to summon foreign ambassadors to appear before the foreign ministry for voting for that resolution that also condemns illegal settlements on Palestinian territories. The resolution demands "Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Al-Quds.” It says settlements have "no legal validity".
In the prevailing environment, it would be nice to see the United Nations also take a similar measure to name and shame those who deliberately destroyed Syria to protect the Zionist illegal entity called 'Israel'. It wouldn't take a lot of effort on the part of the UN to identify the criminal hordes. They include the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Britain, France and certain NATO member states. What follows is from an article by Martin Berger, a freelance journalist and geopolitical analyst, coupled with some more revelations in this regard.
Their six-year regime-change campaign has killed over 400,000 people and made millions more homeless and refugees – still out there in freezing temperatures while many in the West and in the Persian Gulf are busy in celebrations and the normal daily life. The United Nations needn’t look that far to collect evidence either. The US State Department’s email of Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State, available on WikiLeaks, has done that already. It shows how Washington’s so-called “humanitarian” intervention and regime-change fantasy turned Syria into a ruined state and destabilized the entire planet. This was done through flawed reasoning, deliberate criminality, terror proxies, and total disregard to international protocols.
For the UN not to condemn the US government, or worse still, stand by its rogue partners in crime, since it needs their money, is, therefore, not only immoral and servile, but is morally treasonable to the long-suffering people of Syria and the world community. No one is totally blind to the huge problems that this dirty war has ultimately led to, including the current spate of terror attacks and refugee crisis in Europe. This is just a reminder of Washington's 2011 dreams that: “The US will impose regime change with arms and without troops but with help from terrorist groups, and Russia will not dare oppose America, noting Russia did nothing during Kosovo". The US also dreamed that "the new, imaginary US-backed Syrian government will abandon ties with Iran, turn against Hezbollah, and potentially negotiate a peace settlement with Israel, and so on.”
Just like the rest of the international civil society, the UN is in the know that this US-led regime-change campaign has failed. It also knows the consequences have been devastating - not just for Syria but for the whole world as well. Syria is now a terror-ravaged state, its people are still suffering, and the usual suspects behind this criminality are still at large. Just like the landmark anti-Israel vote, the UN can and should issue a similar resolution to strongly condemn the United States and its rogue partners in crime for destroying Syria and destabilizing the entire planet. Inaction will only embolden the pro-Israel hordes, most committed to the total destruction of Syria. But, does the UN really dare to, when it was frightened to death when it included Saudi Arabia in the list of Child's Rights Violators and was immediately forced to strike it off the list when the rich rulers in Riyadh warned to drop their financial support for the UN.
It's a good news story. The United Nations Security Council has unanimously voted to endorse the new ceasefire deal in Syria’s nearly six-year war. In addition to the truce, the resolution calls for rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian aid deliveries throughout the country. It calls for a meeting between Syrian government representatives and opposition forces in Kazakhstan in late January to jump start peace talks.
There is some additional bad news for those trying to regime change Syria and dismember it onto sectarian lines. The US-led war on Syria has failed and will stay that way. What’s more, the Syria process either sidelines them – in the case of the United States and its regional allies – or excludes them – in the case of ISIL, Al-Nusra Front and other Al-Qaeda affiliates.
True, the regime changers, the United States in particular, also endorsed the ceasefire deal at the Security Council. But that's just for show. They are desperate to spread fake news as sometimes glass glitters more than diamonds because it has more to prove. They had no choice but to present themselves as “friends of Syria” in such a critical juncture – pretending to be what they are not. Meantime, it came as a big surprise that Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently labeled the members of the US-led coalition as promise breakers and supporters of terrorists. According to the Turkish president, this coalition provides support to various terrorist groups, including ISIS, YPG, PYD and Ankara has the evidence to back up that claim. But what exactly offended Ankara so much? Recently, Turkey has been suffering extremely painful defeats from the ISIS in the Syrian city of Al-Bab. Previously the troops employed in the Euphrates Shield operation successfully taken western suburbs of Al-Bab and were planning to occupy the heights overlooking the city.
It’s been noted that as the US Ambassador to Ankara, John Bass kept persuading Turkish reporters that Washington was not supporting militants directly, the airfield in the Syrian city of Rumeylan saw an ever increasing number of US transport planes landing. The payload that they were carrying would soon be transported by US helicopters to different parts of the country. According to Turkish journalists, the last large delivery of weapons occurred on the evening of 27 December.
We have seen various commentators noting that under the guise of military assistance to the Kurdish Peshmerga, the Obama administration is actively assisting various extremist groups in Syria by secretly supplying them with all sorts of weapons, along with the so-called “advisers” in a bid to topple the legitimate Syrian government. It’s no coincidence that after the liberation of Aleppo, Syrian troops found stockpiles of weapons and explosives manufactured in the US, Germany and Bulgaria, including a large amount of anti-tank missiles.
While the Aleppo operation has been a turning point in the Syrian armed conflict, the White House is still in a hurry to provide maximum support to the so-called “moderate opposition” in Syria, but now it’s clear for pretty much everyone that Washington is assisting the terrorist group of ISIS. Last December alone Turkish bloggers spotted the passage of three large cargo ships through the Bosphorus Strait, carrying arms for the terrorists. In particular, in mid-December, Bosphorus Observer on Twitter reported that a freighter Karina Danica left Bulgarian shore, while heading to Saudi Jeddah with weapons on board. This data is confirmed by a specialized tracking site known as "Marine Traffic".
So there’s more than enough reasons for the United Nations to act as per it's role and to come up, at least, with a resolution condemning and naming as responsible those who deliberately orchestrated a mishap and calamity for the Syrian people, leaving there just piles of rubbles and destroyed infrastructure.
