Trump’s tottering administration might collapse anytime

The crisis in the corridors of power in the US is insoluble and could likely bring about the end of the current Republican regime, sooner than expected, according to an accurate report of the chaotic situation on Capitol Hill by the British ambassador to Washington.

Here’s a Viewpoint Column in this regard that recently appeared in Iran’s English language daily ‘Kayhan International’. This will be followed by expert comments on Russian TV in support of Ambassador Kim Darroch.

Kayhan International wrote: “Donald Trump's “clumsy and inept” presidency, which is wracked by conflicts and vicious infighting at the White House, at times resembling “knife fights” could sooner or later “collapse in disgrace and downfall”.

“This is not, what some people might say, the ‘wishful thinking’ of Kayhan International or any other Iranian daily and journal, hoping for a quick end to the US economic terrorism against the Islamic Republic.

“Neither are these the remarks of Pyongyang’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), deriding “Donald the Dotard” for his erratic policy. Nor did China release such a statement in expectation of an early end to Trump’s trade war.

“As a matter of fact, the opening paragraph of our Viewpoint Column reflects the candid views of the British ambassador to Washington, Kim Darroch, as part of his confidential report to London on the dysfunctional US administration.

“The leaked cables published in the Daily Mail last Sunday provide a rare look at how a senior British diplomat views the British regime’s closest ally, regarding which he says: “We don’t really believe this administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.”

As noted by Kayhan International: “Darroch, who also characterized Trump’s policy on Iran as “incoherent, chaotic,” said he did not believe the US president’s public explanation of sympathy for the lives or Iranians for calling off a supposedly planned military strike against Iran last month, following the downing of a sophisticated spy drone in Iranian airspace last month by Iran’s ever-vigilant defence personnel.

“It means, never did the subject of striking back at Iran occur in the corridors of power in Washington, who were and still are, in a state of shock at the Islamic Republic’s sophisticated means of defence which could retaliate with devastating force the moment the CENTCOM terrorists – the saboteurs of several neutral oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman – make a wrong move against Iran’s sovereignty.

“These confidential cables, which representatives of all countries send back home for analysis, are an honest and professional report of the situation in the host country.

“In the case of Darroch, this frank and forthright assessment seems to have irked some pro-US elements at Britain’s Foreign Office, and they have conspired to leak it to the press in order to cause embarrassment to a seasoned diplomat, whom Trump immediately called “a stupid guy” with whom he is not going to have any contact anymore, and who was promptly disinvited from the dinner with Trump and the Emir of Qatar.

According to Kayhan International: “This means Darroch is likely to be replaced before the end of his term in late 2020, when in the next few weeks Theresa May steps down to make way at 10 Downing Street for either current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt or his predecessor Boris Johnson – both considered as American-oriented.

Though May defended him for his accurate report of the chaotic situation in the US, Hunt wasted no time in expressing disagreement with the remarks of Darroch, who is being badly let down by his own chaotic government for informing them of the problems plaguing Trump’s presidency, which in the words of the British ambassador could soon “crash and burn”.

“Darroch knows better, since Britain and the US share the same language, culture, history, religion, and social norms, which means there are no obstacles in making a correct analysis of the situation prevailing in ‘Trumpistan’.

“This is in sharp contrast to the jobs of British representatives to other countries, for instance Iran, where language, culture, and religious values are insurmountable barriers for proper assessment of facts and realities, thus making them rely on ‘unreliable’ intermediaries and interpreters, who very often draw a disturbed picture of their own countries, which in turn explains for London’s absurd policies of the past forty years towards Tehran, including the recent suicidal move in seizing an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Gibraltar, unaware of the dire consequences awaiting the vested interests of Britain in our part of the world.”

“In conclusion, Kayhan International wrote: “It could be said, irrespective of their bravado, their bragging, and their military buildup in our region in a bid to fleece the rootless regimes of the ill-earned oil wealth, both the US and Britain are hollow from inside, and along with their clients, the illegal Zionist entity included, might soon give the free world the grand spectacle of a collective collapse.

In related news, a former White House official told Russian Television (RT): the UK ambassador to the US, Kim Darroch, whose leaked criticism of President Donald Trump has rendered him persona non grata, was the victim of a “hit job” by someone in the Foreign Office.

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci told Afshin Rattansi, the host of RT’s programme ‘Going Underground’: “Someone wanted to embarrass him and knock him out of that post.”

Scaramucci added: “Because of Trump’s “predictable” response to the embarrassing leaks – which called his administration “dysfunctional,” “inept,” and “incompetent” – Darroch will most likely not receive a term extension, even though he is “very well liked in Washington.”

The former White House official said: “Give me 11 days inside the Foreign Office (in London), I could figure out who’s doing it and we’d have to send him out.”
