  • Critical warning: Northwest England’s water reserves hit crisis levels

Pars Today – Following the driest spring in nearly seven decades, the British government has declared an official drought status in northwest England, as water reserves reach critical levels.

Citing falling river levels and an unprecedented drop in reservoir volumes, the UK government declared a drought for the northwest region. In a statement, the UK Environment Agency said the area has entered official drought status after recording the driest spring start since 1955, with water levels in reservoirs now even lower than in previous crisis years.
