Zionist official: British sanctions against Tel Aviv are dangerous

Pars Today- The leader of the Israeli regime’s opposition has strongly criticized Britain’s decision to impose economic restrictions on the regime, calling the sanctions a “wrong and dangerous” move.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Yair Lapid, leader of the Israeli opposition, reacted to the British government’s decision to impose sanctions and economic restrictions on Tel Aviv, calling the move a “grave mistake” and saying the policy was “wrong, dangerous and inappropriate.”

Referring to the activities of some far-right ministers in the Israeli regime, he said that Britain’s decision, coming on the eve of the Knesset elections, would lead to increased tensions.

The opposition leader also claimed that Britain’s decision was motivated by domestic political considerations, arguing that London had taken the step in an effort to win the support of dissatisfied voters.

The remarks came after the British government announced on Tuesday that it would impose economic sanctions on the Israeli regime in response to the expansion of settlements and increased violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank—a position that sparked anger among Israeli officials.

Following the decision, France and Canada also announced that they would take steps to ban imports of products manufactured in Israeli settlements and impose targeted measures against settlements and individuals involved in their expansion.
