Russia: We do not care about US ultimatums
Pars Today – The deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council dismissed recent threats by the US president as “theatrical” and insignificant. Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday, “Donald Trump issued a performative ultimatum to the Kremlin, leaving war-hungry Europe disappointed, but Russia paid it no attention.”
He made the remarks in response to Trump’s latest statements about the Ukraine war. On Monday, during a meeting with the NATO secretary-general at the White House, Trump threatened to impose 100% secondary sanctions on Russia if President Putin does not end the war within 50 days.
Trump also announced that he would give Kiev more Patriot air defense missiles and offensive weapons at European expense.
Recently, Trump has shown signs of shifting his stance, accusing Putin of lacking the will to end the war—an apparent policy shift that could escalate tensions and prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
