UNICEF: We have failed the children of Gaza

Pars Today – In a UN Security Council meeting on the situation of children in the Gaza Strip, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell issued a stark warning, stating that the organization has failed the children of Gaza.

Catherine Russell, Head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), said: “The simple truth is that we have failed the children of Gaza. From their perspective, our failure amounts to a betrayal of their right to a safe, healthy childhood with access to education. History and the children themselves will judge our inaction. Like children everywhere, Gaza’s children deserve to live in peace. It is our duty to ensure the future they deserve. We must do better.”
