Pars Today – Sweden’s Prime Minister has called for greater economic pressure on Israel, criticizing the regime’s ongoing obstruction of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Ulf Kristersson, the Swedish Prime Minister, stated that the international community must intensify economic pressure on Israel to compel it to allow unhindered humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

Earlier, a group of 40 members of the European Parliament had urged the European Union to impose sanctions on Israeli officials and suspend the EU-Israel trade agreement. In their letter, lawmakers from 14 EU member states emphasized the need to hold Israel, led by prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accountable for actions that grossly violate the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.

They called on the EU to take decisive action regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, explicitly demanding sanctions against Israeli officials and the suspension of the EU’s cooperation agreement with Tel Aviv.
