Sumud flotilla sets sail from Spain to Gaza
ParsToday – A fleet of about 20 ships carrying humanitarian aid and international activists has departed from the port of Barcelona, Spain, heading toward the Gaza Strip.
This fleet, flying the flags of Palestine and accompanied by hundreds of activists from dozens of countries around the world, has embarked on this journey with the aim of breaking the illegal siege on Gaza and ending the genocide of the Palestinian people. Among the passengers on board are well-known figures such as Irish actor Liam Cunningham, Spanish actor Eduard Fernández, and Ada Colau, the former mayor of Barcelona, along with representatives from various European parliaments. Greta Thunberg, the Swedish environmental activist also present in this convoy, told reporters: "This journey is not just about us or the mission ahead; it is about Palestine. It is about people who are deliberately deprived of the most basic necessities of life, and about a world that has remained silent in the face of this injustice." / IRNA
