Pars Today – Saeed Khatibzadeh, an aide to Iran’s foreign minister, warned that the three European countries are seeking to escalate tensions in the region by triggering the mechanism for reimposing sanctions.
In response to developments regarding the possible return of UN sanctions and efforts by European countries to activate the snapback mechanism, Khatibzadeh said in an interview with Al Mayadeen that the European troika is looking for a pretext to raise tensions. He advised Europe to exercise caution, stressing that the path of diplomacy remains open and is always a better option than increasing the level of tensions. /IRNA
