Germany: European Troika open to diplomatic solutions with Iran

Pars Today – German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul claimed on Tuesday that the European Troika welcomes diplomatic solutions with Tehran, but insisted Iran must take specific steps.

In his interventionist remarks, Wadephul said Iran “must not have nuclear weapons” and warned that international sanctions would be reinstated by the end of the week.

His comments came as a French diplomatic source confirmed a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York between Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and UK, German, and French foreign ministers Yvette Cooper, Johann Wadephul, and Jean-Noël Barrot, along with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.
