China vows to protect companies against U.S. sanctions on Iran
Pars Today – On Friday, China announced that it will take necessary measures to protect Chinese companies and citizens from U.S. sanctions targeting Iran.
Gao Jiaquan, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded to U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil trade—specifically targeting a Chinese refinery—stating that Beijing will safeguard the legal rights of Chinese companies and citizens. He also urged the U.S. to end its use of sanctions, emphasizing that China will defend its energy security.
On Thursday, the United States imposed sanctions on around 100 individuals, entities, and vessels, including a Chinese refinery and independent terminal, involved in Iran’s oil and petrochemical trade.
